Participants heard about apprenticeships and adult education in the state of Illinois and the barriers they have faced when bridging the two. Presenters also highlighted programs that were successfully making progress between bridging the two. They outlined strategies that could help participants to use as a model to be successful in their own states.

With 2.2 million people enrolled in WIOA activities and only 2,700 of them  co-enrolled in apprenticeship in 2020, the workforce system has significant opportunity to respond to increased national and state attention to, and investments in, this workforce development tool. This webinar was aimed at educating workforce development board and One Stop Operator staff on co-enrollment and funding of apprenticeship-related activities.
